Animals At Farming World

What would a farm be without animals?
Nowhere near as much fun!

At Farming World, our animals are our pride and joy and we hope that you will get as much pleasure from them as we do.

At Farming World you will find hundreds of different species of animals. We have horses and ponies and some real gentle giants in our beautiful heavy horses. You'll find pigs - including some beautiful rare breeds - and cows, goats and sheep, llamas and alpacas. Our ongoing programme of breeding means that there are often piglets and lambs to be seen too.

Alongside the traditional farm animals, you'll find some new friends in Kid's Corner - we have several different species of rabbit and, as you'd expect, there are often some babies to say hello to!

Like many farms, we keep poultry and geese at Farming World. But, more unusually, we also have a number of different species renowned for their ornamental qualities, including pheasants and peafowl.

The poultry and ornamental birds aren't the only feathered residents at Farming World. The spectacular birds of prey at Hawklands are an impressive sight and you can enjoy awesome flying displays on most days.

Chickens have no teeth, their food goes into their crop (a type of bag in their throat), and is then ground up by a muscular sac called a gizzard
