Farming World joins forces with Horsell Computers to Cycle the length of Great Britain!

Two of Parsnip Pig's closest friends have decided to take on the mammoth challenge of cycling from John O'Groats to Lands End this May. They are both doing the ride for their individual charities which they have mentioned below; both are very worthwhile charities and need all the support they can get. So if you get a chance to sponsor them both Parsnip Pig and the boys will much appreciate the support to help them along their journey.

Darren Watson and Aaron Thirling will undertake this challenge starting on the 1st May. Here are a few words from each of the boys to let you know a bit about why they are doing the bike ride:

Darren Watson:
I have been challenged to do the bike ride with no training and I am the type of person that will never say "no" to a challenge so that is how I am going to do it. The long days cycling are going to be grueling but I love a challenge and would be really thankful if you would consider sponsoring me! The charity I have chosen to raise money for it Talking2minds, please visit my sponsorship page for more information.

Talking2minds has the solution and is dedicated to eradicating PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) as well as other severe stress related disorders that are being experienced by serving and former military, emergency service personnel and civilians alike. They use a unique system that has been specifically developed to eradicate the symptoms and deliver peace of mind.

By sponsoring me to do this bike ride you are donating to Talking2minds and you can help to eradicate the symptoms of PTSD and assist sufferers quickly regain their health and help them rebuild their lives. Please donate to this worthy cause; even the tiniest amount will go a long way. If you would like to know more about this charity please visit www.talking2minds.co.uk

Thank you for taking the time to read this, we hope you will check how we are getting on as the ride progresses; we will try and keep Parsnip updated as much as we can!

Aaron Thurling:
I've been busy training, battling through the wind and rain on my bicycle for a very worthy cause.

I am cycling from John O'Groats to Lands End over two weeks, starting on the 1st May and I'd be thoroughly chuffed if you'd consider sponsoring me!

I am proud to be supporting Stepping Stones Nigeria. The charity helps vulnerable children in Nigeria who have been accused of being witches. At best they are thrown out of their homes and neglected by the very people who are supposed to love and protect them - it gets much worse and it's not easy reading, but if you'd like to know more please visit www.steppingstonesnigeria.com - they explain things far better than I do.

You only have to read for a few minutes and you'll see why this charity is important. They help fund a school, a place of safety and work to educate people and rally the government to stop this abuse which is borne out of fear and ignorance. Please donate anything you can manage - even the smallest donation helps this vital work.

Very best wishes to you all and thank you for reading!

A male goat is called a Billie, an angora male is called a Buck, a female goat is called a Nannie, and a baby goat is called a Kid

Goats are browsers not just grazers. They eat shoots of trees, bushes, brambles and even thistles

Goat's milk is used to make cheese, yoghurt and fine chocolate

Goats have fine coats and dislike the rain and mud
